The Cancer Survivor Scholarship
In 2018, more than 1.7 million people were diagnosed with a form of cancer in the United States. Cancer is a disease that can have a devastating impact on an individual’s life as well as their friends and family. The impact can be widespread as cancer patients may no longer be able to attend school, hold a job, or have to adapt to a completely new lifestyle after their diagnosis.
The Cancer Survivor Scholarship is intended to help fight this disease by contributing to the education of those individuals who have been impacted by it and are using that experience as their motivation to pursue a career that aims to eradicate cancer. Whether you have been diagnosed with cancer yourself or you were directly impacted by the cancer diagnosis and battle of a family member or close friend, this inspiring story of perseverance can help generate awareness and encourage others to get involved in the fight against cancer. The attorneys at Hawkins Spizman Fortas hope that this scholarship will serve as a beacon of hope for cancer survivors and their families while contributing to the educational goals of students interested in cancer research and fighting this disease. One student will be selected to receive this $1,000 award.
