NFL Linebacker Killed in Crash

Indianapolis Colts linebacker Edwin Jackson will forever be remembered by friends, family and fans alike. The football player was killed in an accident and laid to rest just before Valentine’s Day in his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia.

According to police reports, a man from Guatemala was driving a truck while under the influence of alcohol. The man did not maintain control of his vehicle and caused the crash that resulted in the death of the football star. The man in the ruck did not remain on scene, and will be charged with multiple criminal violations.

Jackson and a friend had pulled to the shoulder of an interstate in Indiana because Jackson wasn’t feeling well. Their Uber driver and Jackson both stepped out of the vehicle. That is when a pickup truck struck the pair. One of the men was thrown into the interstate. That man was also hit by a responding trooper. The driver of the pickup truck fled on foot and was later apprehended by police.

Jackson was remembered as a young man with passion and energy. He loved the game of football and had earned his way through the league. Those speaking at the memorial service frequently mentioned being better people for having known Jackson.
